ABUJA: April 13, according to the reporters, 70,000 newborn babies in Nigeria got resulted with HIV positive. It is been revealed by a top official of West-Africa nation.
On Thursday, John Idoko Director-General of National Agency for the Control of AIDS (NACA) revealed this news in southwestern state of Nigeria “Ogun”. In addition, some of the official over there said that AIDS/HIV including malaria and tuberculosis has widespread among the pregnant women of Nigeria.
The officials also appealed NACA to decrease this disease (AIDS) in their country. Of course, the team of NACA was ready to curb AIDS in their country with the Ogun state government. Idokoasked State Action Committee on AIDS (SACA) to improve their country by fighting against the spread of AIDS.
As far the news is concerned, the officials said that agency is ready to mingle with any other team in order to improve the health status of Nigerian people. Idoko appealed to the central government to support the NACA in strengthening them to fight against AIDS/HIV, aiming to decrease the transmission from mother-to-child.
