The Pakistani cricketers, who participated in the Bangladesh Premire League, are ferociously angry on the organisers of the event. The players have not been paid their entire share of what the contract promised.
The players said that most of them had got only 25 per cent of the total amount from the respective franchises.
However, according to the contract, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is bound to clear all the payments of the foreign players if the respective franchises did not do the same. This clause of the contract is like of a well in the desert.
The players venting their anger said that the franchises were supposed to round up all the dues 40 days after the completion of the event. The BPL finished off long time on 29th of February, but there is no news of the payment.
The contract said that the players would get 25% of the amount before the event, 25% in the middle of the event and the remaining amount after the completion of the event. However, this contract seems to the players as sheer piece of paper!
The International Federation of Players has looked into the matter and is now going to talk about the issue with the Bangladesh Cricket Board.
With the economy slowing down, the cricketers, once considered safe from the economic forces, are not spared in today’s times.
