The trailer for Baz Luhrmann’s adaptation of F Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby has beenreleased online on Tuesday May 22 night. The trailer of the movie has produced enough of buzz in India, as it features Amitabh Bachchan in a friendly appearance. The film also includes topHollywood stars like Leonardo DiCaprio, Carey Mulligan and Tobey Maguire.
The first look of Mr Bachchan’s character, Meyer Wolfsheim is revealed, followed by the firsttrailer of the film which lasts of 2 minutes 22 seconds.
The sequence of Big B was shot in Sydney and while shooting he responded his excitement about working with a foreign crew. He wrote on twitter saying, “Another land another place…same profession, but working conditions and systems so distinct…a happiness to see and observe so much.”
Few days ago, Amitabh tweeted, “It was extremely a great pleasure to work with such wonderful genius as Baz Luhrmann and a host of co stars who have astronomical presence in the world of cinema.”
It was in 2010 when the Australian director during a private visit to India had dropped by his office to meet him. Amitabh mentioned, “In August 2011, he called me if I would perform this small role in his film and I agreed. It is a gesture.” Big B has refused any remuneration on this role offered to him. When asked why the director had selected him, he further wrote, “As to why Bas choose to ask me, is something that perhaps he would be better placed to answer.”

Luhrmann’s film, with a reported budget of $126m, is currently being shot in Sydney. As per the earlier reports, Luhrmann is reflecting on shooting sections in 3D.
