Facebook has just launched a Camera App for iOS devices that lets you browse photos from your Facebook news feed the Instagram way. At the time when Instagram was acquired by Facebook, the giant social network said that they wouldn’t be doing any changes to Instagram to integrate it with Facebook. That’s why they have come up with this new app for its users.
Instagram has gained a lot of users lately, and that’s because of its arrival in the Google Play Store. Also, the ability to apply filters to photos and share them directly on multiple networks in one go is a key success factor. Facebook knew that Instagram was going to be the biggest social network on mobile devices, so acquiring Instagram for a whopping $1 billion wasn’t a bad deal at all.
Coming back to Facebook Camera App, they haven’t yet released an Android app but those of you who have an iOS device can get their hands on the Facebook Camera App right away. Earlier, with the official Facebook app, it was so annoying to upload photos to Facebook but now Facebook has provided us with an easier way to share and browse photos on our Timeline.
After you have installed it, simply launch the app and you should see a photo feed from the people you care about on your screen. With Facebook Camera App, you can upload multiple photos, apply filters to photos, edit images (Crop, resize), add a caption, tag friends and more. You can swipe to see more of any album or tap to enlarge an individual photo.
Although filters in the Facebook camera app are not as good as filters offered by Instagram app and I don’t think it can match up to Instagram simple yet awesome design as well, but still the app will come handy for users who want to upload a bunch of photos on Facebook at one shot. If you want to see the app in action before installing, you can check out the video below, posted by Facebook on their official blog.
Facebook Camera App is now available to download from iTunes Store. Try it out and share your views on the app.
