The Serbian government has signed a memorandum, as they are going to very soon build the world’s largest solar park in the southeast European nation, priced at two billion euros (over $2 billion). The land is spread over 3,000 hectares which will have an estimated capacity of 1,000 MWp (Mega Watt-peak).
Serbian Minister for Environment, Mining and Spatial Planning OliverDulic signed an agreement with the managing staff of Luxembourg-based Securum Equity Partners Europe on Tuesday May 9 for executing the project further.
As per Oliver Dulic, “The construction of the park might take up to 5 years and would include about 3,000 workers to build it. Serbia has decided to lease the land free of charge to Securum, but anticipates to produce 750 million euros through the taxation process,” who is the Serbian Minister for Environment, Mining and Spatial Planning.
Most probably the construction might start from the beginning of next year in full speed, as informed by an official from Securum. The decision of building the solar park in Siberia was because it receives about 40% more solar radiation than the other parts of southeast Europe.
