Actress Sonakshi Sinha is going for a slight twist with her current image. She is all geared up to dance on the song ‘Munni badnam’ at the upcoming IIFA awards show showing her jhumkas-n-thumkas. The IIFA show began in Singapore from yesterday June 7 and end on Saturday June 9.
The actress is getting into the dance steps of Malaika Arora Khan’s Munni Badnaam Hui, the super-hit item number which is of course from Sonakshi’s debut film Dabangg. Hence she’s excited and will try her level best to give her best performance at IIFA, as per the media reports.
But Malaika herself might not be happy hearing this as she is the original Munni from Dabangg film. It was reported that in 2010 sports awards show, Malaika was not at all pleased when Sonakshi performed on her number which was also her stage debut.
Though Rowdy Rathore movie has been successful, but Sonakshi is not that much praised for her acting as her co-actor Akshay Kumar who is applauded by the critics for his commendable stunts by himself.
In Dabangg being her first film, Sonakshi had played a small town girl’s role and in her second film Rowdy Rathore she was seen as a girl from Patna, though using same dialects for both of her films.
Sonakshi’s upcoming film is Shirish Kunder’s directed ‘Joker’ yet again acting with Akshay Kumar. This time her character will be different. The dance performance on Munni might be to gain a new image before she switches over to Joker.
On Saturday night, the award show will also see the super-rocking dance performances by Shahid Kapur, Priyanka Chopra, Sonakshi Sinha, Bipasha and Ranbir Kapoor, being choreographed by the talented dance guru Prabhu Deva.
