Monsoon rains of our country is all set to hit the southern Kerala coast in two days time. The highest weather official informed this on Monday, telling that it had lessened anxiety related to the inceptive delay endangering the plantings of summer crops like rice, soybean and cotton.
As per D.S. Pai, lead forecaster of the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Around the Kerala coast, the conditions have become quite preferable for the beginning of the monsoon. It may hit Kerala by June 6.
Rains are anticipated in 48 hours time, as told in an earlier IMD statement. Pai added, “We are keeping hold of our monsoon forecast this year and then will analyze the forecast chart around June 25 when the monsoon begins to progress all over the country.”
Rainy season between June to September will start from Kerala coast and spread to other states of India and neighboring Bangladesh, Bhutan and Nepal by Mid of July. There will be average amount of rain this year.
The approach of rain will surely rise the prospects of farming which will give them enough time so that it can reach a proper state for successful harvest.
The weather officials told that a cyclonic pressure in the last week around the Arabian Sea has postponed the rains from its much anticipated date of June 1 to two days more extent.
Last year the monsoon had begun on May 31, but the rains approached 2 days ahead, as said by the weather office.
