After the tremendous rise in the petrol prices, the sanction of the New Telecom Policy by the cabinet on Thursday seems like a hand of console to the people of the country.
The New Telecom Policy, approved today in the cabinet, deals with the abolition of the roaming charges and to allow the customers to retain their mobile numbers even outside their circles across the country without having to pay any extra buck.
The consumers had to pay heavily as roaming charges. This policy would cut this expense.
In the times of inflation this sanction of the NTP 2012, may render a sigh of relief among the people. However this relief may not make much of a difference in a common man’s budget. With the prices of essential commodities boosting on the one hand such benefits are eaten up.
However small, this decision of the cabinet would surely bring in some hope for the common man..
