Bharti Airtel is getting ready to launch 4G services in April in our country, and the target of initiation is in Kolkata. It seems Kolkata city is evolving for the better. This news has been confirmed by Bharti Airtel CEO Sanjay Kapoor in GSMA event in New Delhi.
According to Sanjay Kapoor, “This is our very first launch of 4G services this month in Kolkata,” when asked about launch of 4G services by the company on sidelines of GSMA event here.
In India Airtel will be the first operator to launch 4G services which is based on 4G LTE-TDDtechnology, providing speed up to 100 Mbps.
The Airtel company had achieved 20 Mhz TDD of Broadband Wireless Access spectrum (BWA) in the2.3 GHz frequency band in 4 big telecom circles involving Kolkata, Maharashtra, Punjab andKarnataka in 2010.
In 2010, the other telecom companies who achieved the BWA spectrum in broadband auction are Tikona, Qualcomm, Aircel and Augere.
Airtel 4G Service in India
- The launch of 4G services are intended in Pune, Maharashtra, Chandigarh, Punjab and Bangalore, Karnataka soon.
- Later in this year also our Indian Government is planning to come up with 4G spectrum auction for 700 Mhz spectrum.
- In Kolkata, Airtel has selected ZTE Corporation of China to plan, target, produce and utilize its 4G network efficiently.
Before India’s hugest private telecom company, Bharti Airtel had elected Nokia Siemens Networks(NSN) for building and functioning its 4G network in Maharashtra circle utilizing TD-LTE, one of the 4G technologies.
Well Kolkata is coming with a new 4G services by Bharti Airtel later this month.
