• Sony Xperia Play ICS 4.0 Beta Version ROM Released

Sony Mobile released the beta version of ICS ROM for its famous Xperia Play smartphone in a bid to collate the feedback of the users and to discover bugs so that they will be resolved prior to the roll out of the main update. While the company is open for all sort of feedback relating to different aspects in the device, it has it focus on the gaming aspect of Xperia Play considering gaming is the main feature of this smart phone. Sony has been so serious in its campaign to capture the mobile gaming market. While the release of the beta could be a part of building the hype of its devices, it would surely one of the best ways to be able to know whether the ICS ROM for Xperia Play is ready to be set out into the wild.

There are millions of people who actually own Xperia Play and Sony Mobile confirmed that just moments after they have released the beta version, many who want to try are asking for it. It also issued an advanced disclaimer that such ROM is still in its beta and therefore not cleared of bugs in which the users are urged to report if ever they encountered them. Among the issues that users may be able to experience while running the beta version of ICS ROM for Xperia Play is the inconsistency of the operating system to some of the games that come with the device, although it assured its loyal consumers that most part of those problems have already been addressed and that they are currently working closely with the developers of the games so that gamers would have a perfect, smoother experience while enjoying Xperia Play.
While everybody wants to try ICS ROM beta, Sony Mobile has a few requirements so that a user would be provided a copy. Some of those requirements are the following:
A Developer – The beta update will not be over the air so Xperia Play user should have necessary knowledge on how to install or switch between different ROMs as it would be manual. Those who simply don’t have experience are discouraged to try the beta ROM as risks pose during the installation process.
Xperia Play Owner – Only those who have their own Xperia Play smartphones would be considered recipient of the said ROM. Of course, it is self-explanatory; you can never use the ROM without the device to run it on.
Unlocked Xperia Play Device – Sony requires Xperia Play owners who want to try this ROM to unlock their devices using Unlock boot loader service which is Sony Mobile’s official application to unlock its devices.
It seems that some of Xperia Play owners are now enjoying the cool features beta ICS ROM offers. For those who are not allowed to have a copy of the ROM, don’t feel bad because sooner it will be released for global use. Besides, this is still a beta version and if you don’t have enough knowledge about how things work in these devices, you might end up messing up your phone.
