In November 2011, DataWind, the manufacturer of the tab started the online booking for Aakash tablet. But every person couldn’t book the tablet direct from the company website.
Around 30,000 tablets priced at Rs. 2500, when put online for sale were quickly sold by the buyers at that very moment.

He responded that many other manufactures involving ITI would be engage in the manufacturing of low cost Aakash tablet.
