• MP Sachin Tendulkar says he prefers hotel over govt bungalow

    MP Sachin Tendulkar bungalow

Cricketer MP Sachin Tendulkar is given a government bungalow for his official accommodation inDelhi at the time when he attends the Parliament. But the cricketer feels that this would be useless wastage of tax payers’ money unnecessarily. In fact the accommodation should be offered to someone else as he wouldn’t be residing in Delhi permanently.
Sachin took the oath as a Rajya Sabha MP on 4 June. He informed CNN IBN, “I’m not interested in staying in any government bungalow as I’ll be coming to Delhi for attending Parliament for few days time.”
He added, “Why to waste tax payers money and amp, it would be nice to give the bungalow to the one who requires it more than me.”
As per Sachin, he would prefer to stay in hotel every time while coming to Delhi. When he was sworn in as MP, he had told that he would persist to concentrate on his cricket. Sachin who along with his family resides in Mumbai said that when his cricketing schedule would permit him, he will surely attend the parliament in Delhi.
Reports say that Sachin has been allotted a 5 Tughlak Lane bungalow which is a type VII accommodation situated in Lutyen’s zone. The bungalow is located right opposite the house of Rahul Gandhi, who resides at 12 Tughlak Lane.
Tendulkar’s bungalow has extensive bedrooms and huge lawns, spreading over 7000 sq feet. He’s even entitled Z-plus security cover. Strong security personnel will guard his house. When he’ll arrive in Delhi, he will be provided two escorted vehicles.
“I’m honored of being nominated as a Rajya Sabha MP which is extremely important than the accommodations provided like bungalows, perks and amps,” said Sachin.
Well the government will surely have a talk with the cricketer in order to convince him to take the official accommodation only for his security purpose, as reported by CNN IBN.
