chef Manish Mehrotra who won the NDTV Good Times’ reality show Foodistan after facing tough competition expresses that he will surely make vegetarian dishes for the megastar, Amitabh Bachchan.
Being a huge fan of Big B, chef Manish told sources, “Earlier when I was working as a chef in a restaurant called Thai Pavilion at Mumbai, only at that time I got an opportunity to cook for Amitabh Bachchan. As I was a junior chef, I couldn’t get a chance to meet him personally.”
Manish added, “It was an awesome feeling cooking for him. Now if ever I get an opportunity to make something delicious for him, I’ll give him a long list so that he himself can select what to eat. I would certainly make something good vegetarian dish for him.”
Fifteen years in the chef line, the master chef declared the winner finalist of Foodistan on NDTV Good Times show.
Many people from India and Pakistan have participated to produce unique dishes. Manish faced Poppy Agha, aPakistani chef based in Canada. He learnt many street foods of Pakistan from Agha.
Currently Manish is working at Indian Accent restaurant, a fine dining restaurant at The Manor in New Delhi. He said, “There was lot to learn new things from various people. The Indian contestants of fifteen could get to know new style of cookingfood via this show. The street food of Pakistan was not known, so we acquired knowledge about it.”
Mehrotra assumes, “The TV show has earned him many praises. Guests are coming to his restaurant and asking for the same dishes that I made on the show. We are even planning of approaching with a ‘Foodistan food festival’, a stage where I’ll come up with the same dishes which I made on the show.”
Being the winner of the NDTV Good Times show,Manish has achieved a contract to write his own cookery book and he will also visit any three cities in the world for a culinary experience. He has a keen desire to travel to Australia, America and Northern Europe.
