The Indian cricketers failed to earn praises from the fans in Johannesburg who had come to cheer for them.
South Africa won the New Age Friendship Cup by 11 runs against India as the match was called off due to rain yesterday March 30. Sent to bat first by the Indians, the SA team made a big 219/4 in 20 overs.
But when India came to bat later, rain put a full stop to the game when they scored 71 runs with openers Robin Uthappa and Gautam Gambhir still in the middle in 7.5 overs. Even though there was no loss, India was behind the par score of SA’s 82 as per Duckworth Lewis method by 11 runs; and thus declared losing the game.
