Nirvana Venture Advisors has gained 10% investment in online gaming company –Games2Win from it’s early stage investors – Nexus Venture Partners and ICICI Ventures. It has been reported that few of the senior employees of the company have gone ahead in selling their few shares to the new investor.
Amit Patni, the co-founder of Nirvana Venture Advisors being a significant part of the transaction, will associate along with Games2win Board.
Games2win India Private Limited was established in 2007 by Alok Kejriwal and Mahesh Khambadkone, increasing $5.5 Mn in Series A funding from Clearstone, and in 2007 Silicon Valley. In the process from the existing investors Clearstone Venture Partners and Silicon Valley Bank(SVB India Capital Partners), it increased the Series B funding of $6 Mn in March 11’.
In the year 2006, ICICI Ventures and Nexus Venture Partners had invested in the company.
About 20 million users play 600 proprietary games each month which are owned by the company, the publishers like Yahoo.com, Viacom Kids and the Discovery Channel license its games. There are 70 people employed by the company, and intends to increase it to 120 in the next 6 months.
The company has been functioning an informal games portal and thus has released a number of iOS (mostly free-to-play) and social titles like Junkyard Mayhem and Super Mom.
Amit and Arihant, sons of Gajendra Patni have established the Nirvana Venture which is a $75 Mn VC fund, concentrating on mobile and internet start-ups in our country, and intends to invest $500K to $4 million in early-stage, leaving aside the later-stage investments.
In August 2011 the first investment was made by its company by putting its investment in Pune-based NextLeap Career Solutions Pvt. Ltd.
