The 37-year-old actress was also invited as the chief guest at the event. Kajol said, “I assume country need to wake up and play a significant part in saving the girl child. In this modern age, people should not think that women are less than men. Such thoughts shouldn’t come in mind at all. Today time has changed and they should come up with a positive attitude and show equal respect to the girls.”

Kajol added, “It is an essential part to join the ‘Save Girl Child’ initiative. This is absolutely a good cause and I’m very happy to be present here. Children especially girls are all God’s creations and one shouldn’t harm the little child or take anyone’s life. They have no right to do so.”
