Mr Perfectionist Aamir Khan is all set to make his debut in the aspiring TV show “Satyamev Jayate” to be aired on Sunday May 6. His new show will be telecast on Star Plus and DD National in Hindi.
The dubbed versions of this show were all prepared to air on Star Network’s regional channels including Marathi, Bengali and the 4 South Indian languages of Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. But now there has been a slight change. Satyamev Jayate won’t be broadcast inKannada.
The reason behind not telecasting is that the film and TV industries in Karnataka do not give permission of dubbing of any content into the language, be it a film or TV show relating to Bollywood, Hollywood or any other entertainment-type industry.
Hence the new show is completely banned by the State of Karnataka from airing, because of the policy of the state of barring all dubbed serials or movies in the state. Only approval that Kannada Film Industry gives is of Kannada remakes of serials and movies in any other language, but not all the dubbed ones.
According to Ravi Kiran, “Everyday among 58 serials, you have many production, post-production etc. Many people are participating in this, and they rely on this. Once the dubbing arrives, half of the programs will be imported. All actors will become dubbing actors then,” who is the President of Karnataka Television Association.
This will be a sad development for Aamir Khan who’s target was to unite the people via his TV show. But till now he hasn’t commented on this matter. It is anticipated that the ban is cancelled by the Karnataka state, so that its people can also enjoy the show in Kannada too.
The public of the Karnataka state are also unhappy with this decision and respond that the show should be telecast in all languages and made approachable to them too.
